Community Guidelines
Effective Date: April 8, 2026
Rankd is a community of outdoor climbers who care about progression, competition, and honest logging. These guidelines exist to keep the platform fair, respectful, and useful for everyone.
1. Be Honest
Rankd is a scoreboard. The integrity of rankings depends on honest data. This is the most important rule.
- Log real sends. Only log ascents you have actually completed outdoors.
- Use accurate grades. Log the accepted community grade for the route, not an inflated one.
- Use the correct style. Onsight means first try, no beta, no falls. Flash means first try with beta. Redpoint means you worked it first. Don't inflate your style.
- No indoor sends. Rankd is for outdoor climbing only.
- No duplicate logging. Don't log the same send multiple times to inflate your score.
We reserve the right to investigate and remove suspected fraudulent data and to suspend accounts that repeatedly submit dishonest logs.
2. Be Respectful
Rankd is competitive, not toxic. Healthy rivalry motivates everyone. Harassment does the opposite.
- No harassment or bullying. Do not target, insult, threaten, or demean other users in any context.
- No hate speech. Content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any protected characteristic is not tolerated.
- No sexually explicit content. Keep profile information, notes, and all user-generated content appropriate.
- No spam or self-promotion. Rankd is not a platform for advertising or soliciting.
- Respect privacy. Do not share other people's personal information without their consent.
3. Be a Good Citizen
- Report bad behavior. If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the report feature in the App. Reports are reviewed by our team.
- Use blocking when needed. If another user is bothering you, you can block them from Settings or their profile.
- Keep notes constructive. Ascent notes are visible to the community (unless marked private). Use them to share useful beta, conditions, or your experience — not to attack others.
- Respect the crag. While Rankd doesn't manage access, we expect our community to follow Leave No Trace principles, respect closures, and be good stewards of the climbing areas we all share.
4. Content We Will Remove
We reserve the right to remove any content that:
- Is fraudulent, misleading, or dishonest
- Is harassing, threatening, or abusive
- Contains hate speech or discrimination
- Is sexually explicit or inappropriate
- Promotes illegal activity
- Is spam or commercial solicitation
- Violates another person's privacy
5. Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
- Removal of offending content
- Temporary account suspension
- Permanent account termination
Enforcement actions are at our discretion. Severe or repeated violations will result in permanent removal. We may also report illegal activity to law enforcement where appropriate.
6. Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may contact us at support@rankdclimbing.com to request a review.
7. Changes
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. We will notify users of material changes through the App or by updating this page.
